Alchemetica Flesh Gelatine

New to violet moon works is Alchemetica Laboratories Flesh Gelatin.

For stage makeup or on the film set use Alchemetica Laboratories Flesh Gelatin to create 3 dimensional effects. Slashing wounds, bullet entry wounds, peeling flesh, zombie skin etcetera, by applying directly to skin or use to make precast prosthetics.

Heat to a liquid form by standing jar in a bowl or like container in hot water 75 - 85 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes (water boils at 100 degrees Celsius), you may need to empty out the water and add more hot water to maintain the temperature. Apply with a spatula or brush on, allow to set, then sculpt the effect by ripping, tearing, etcetera. Alchemetica Laboratories Gelatine Flesh can be also manipulated while in liquid form, ideal for thinning out and blending the edges

Self adheres and removes from skin and hair with warm water or peeling off carefully. May be used as a substitute for latex on children who are allergic to latex, when applied by an adult.

Caution:
Do not use on children 6 years or younger. Children require adult supervision. Be very careful when applying to skin that the Flesh Gelatine is cool enough not to cause any burning or discomfort. Do not put in ears or eyes. Do not microwave or use a heat gun.

Natural Sea Sponges

There are 3 common grades of sea sponges. At violet moon works the sponges we stock for stage makeup are the 2 best grades. The lowest grade, which is not stocked by violet moon works is classified as "wool" the next grade up is "silk" and the top of the range is "premium". It is worth checking what you are using from your makeup supplier. Most theatrical makeup suppliers including the biggest names in the business stock "wool" and/or "silk".

The difference in results for application of water based or activated by water makeup is noticeable with each grade. The "premium" natural sponge when moistened allows for a smooth and even application of cake and liquid makeup and other water activated or based cosmetic products.

The sponges are easily washed and ready for their next use.

Anatomical Skull

A high quality original life size human skull cast available from violet moon works. It is ideal for both anatomy classes and for special effects use in stage and film. It is handmade from hard, durable plastic- PVC.

Accurate representation of the fissures, foramina, processes, sutures, individually placed teeth etc. It can be disassembled into skull cap (held in place by rare earth magnets), base of skull and mandible. The mandible is mounted on springs to easily demonstrate natural movement. The springs are easily removed.

The skull will accept most forms of stage makeup for ageing or weathering. A stage makeup like CreamBlend can be used, set and removed with makeup remover lotion then washed and dried. Use the inside of the skull cap as a test area.

Synthetic and wax modelling putty can be attached and makeup applied to represent decomposition or mummification. Discreet anchor point holes assist in securing appliances/prosthetics. Use synthetic hair from violet moon works available at violet moon works to embed strands into the scalp “skin” to further enhance realism for special effects

The word is that Alchemetica Laboratories are about to add to their range of makeup. They are extending their range of stage and film blood products. Also a new adhesive remover - Citro Silicone Remover and LeQikk - une base pour la liquéfaction, which turns cake and powder makeup into a liquid based cosmetic. The new products should be at violet moon works late February - early March. These new makeup items should find their way into every makeup artist's kit.
